Hello, I am sharing another daytrip to Shenandoah National Park on Aug 26th. It is one of our favorite places to visit and an enjoyable drive. We like to hike on the Limberlost Trail and on this day we also hiked some of the Hawksbill Trail. It was nice to see the Dark-eyed Juncos off of the Limberlost trail and we enjoyed watching an Eastern Bluebird family while eating lunch at the Big Meadows.

For my Wild Bird entry these are the best bird images I could come up with during our visit to Shenandoah on this day. The top row is the Dark-eyed Junco and the bottom row a family of Eastern Bluebirds.  I saw and heard lots of other birds but no photos.

I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

Happy Autumn everyone!

Sometimes hubby and I like an easy close by walk so we head to the local NCR bike trail. NCR stand for the North Central Railroad.  The whole trail is 20 miles total from Hunt Valley Maryland to the Maryland-Pennsylvania line. It does continue into Pennsylvania toward York Pa. These are some fence scenes from along the trail and my capture of the moon setting in the morning. I also included hubby's sunset shots at our lake.

The moon setting seen from my deck. Just a reminder another Super Moon and the Lunar Eclipsewill begin on the evening of Sept 27th and end on the 28th. I am hoping for clear skies during this time.  In our area the eclipse should be visable at 10:47 PM.  I hope I can stay awake!

We have been seeing some Great Blue Herons fishing in the river near the bike trail. A Red Admiral Butterfly and some wildflowers…

Hello, I am again sharing another one of our walks. This time hubby and I were walking the trail that follows along the Susquehanna River.  The trail has great views of the river and is usually a great place to see the birds. The Bald Eagles are known to nest along this river and there is also a Great Blue Heronry.

Above first row is a Song Sparrow, unknown flycatcher, Tree Swallows. Middle row is a Double Crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Gulls. Bottom row another Great Blue Heron, Osprey on the wire and a juvenile Bald Eagle.

I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

It seems like I will be sharing summer photos well into Autumn. On this day hubby and I went on our walk at the Patapsco Sate Park, an area known as Avalon in the park and is located in Baltimore County. We walked on one of the many trails called the Grist Mill trail, checked out the swinging bridge and the Lost Lake. This trail 2.3 miles follows the river and the railroad bed.

For my skywatch entry, it was a pretty day to be out for a walk.  A lovely sky with the puffy white clouds. Some people were tubing or playing in the river.

Some scenes from our walk around the Lost Lake. The butterflies were enjoying the Joe Pye weed.  Lots of butterflies, turtles and dragonflies.

Some pretty Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies and the Joe Pye Weed.

I believe the top left is a Cardinal, an American Robin, A cute tired Golden Retriever pup we met on the trail…

These images and mosaics are from our walk and daytrip to Swan Harbor Farms Park in Havre De Grace Maryland. I have done other posts on this park and the Rails we have seen at this park.

For my Nature Notes and Wild Bird post I sharing the birds below in my mosaic. On this day we heard the rails but could not see them, we did see the Belted Kingfisher, Great Blue Heron, Mallard ducks, and a Green Heron in flight which was spooked by some Canada Geese landing. There were some pretty wildlfowers and daylilies.

Above are some of the birds we saw on our outing, the Kingfisher, GB heron and the Green Heron in flight.
