Saturday's Critters #199

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

I am sharing my backyard warblers, in the fall it seems some warblers like the Cape May Warbler and Tennessee Warbler like to eat the wild berries growing in my yard. They are fast moving little birds, hard to get clear photos from my dining room window.

Cape May Warbler, they love the berries growing on the Devil's Walking Stick plant.

Pretty sure this is the Tennessee Warbler

Any help with this id? Edit: thanks to Ken this is a Bay-breasted Warbler.

Another Cape May Warbler

1st year Bay-breasted Warbler

My mosaic includes, the Cape May Warbler, Eastern PeWee and or Phoebe, Black-throated Green Warbler and an unknown warbler. The fall warblers look different than their spring colors.

I am just thrilled to see these warblers in my yard and from my window. There were more warblers I did not get photos of, they seemed to notice me at the window and were camera shy.

These are some birds from our local fire road walk. The the top row is the Black & White Warbler. The Black & White Warbler hugs the trees like the Nuthatches.  I was told the bird on the bottom row is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. I wish these birds were more out in the open, so many tree branches and twigs.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!

Here is a list of my linky parties;

  15. I used to spend several hours a week looking at and photographing the birds in our back yard. The trees that the birds frequented in our neighbors’ yards have come down, either by way of tornado or purposely. We don’t seem to get as many birds in our back yard. I enjoy seeing the birds that frequent your back yard.

  18. How fun it is to see so many birds in your backyard. One time I counted the different birds that come to our feeders and I know it was into the 30s but I don't know the distinction as you do. I learn from you too

  35. Hi Eileen, Hello to you from Seattle. As always, I enjoyed your photos in this week's Saturday Critters! By the way, your critter photos inspired me to look for a camera similar to yours ... one with an excellent zoom. I ended up buying the Canon SX730. It has a 40X zoom. My results so far have been good but no better than yours! :-) Have a happy weekend and thanks for hosting Saturday's Critters. John

  52. You have lots of berries left to attract the birds. Ours are just about shriveled to hard little buttons. I had two wonderful big dogs and their owner come visit me this week. She is an author and helped one of her dogs put his stories in print. It was so much fun I forgot to take pictures. - Margy

  53. What beautiful warblers!!! I have one that has been in our oak trees for a few days and neither JMM or I can get a good enough look at him to identify. Hope your autumn temperatures are cooler than mine; we hit 98 on my back porch this afternoon. Have a wonderful week.

  55. Before I forget the name Dabchick, oh what an adorable name for the Pied Billed Grebe...I think all Grebes are just very special.
You have gotten some very nice finds with you Warblers. I am not seeing as many as others as they migrate through, just too much to try and walk for now. I am hoping I won't miss my favorite Cedar Wax Wings. Hoping they arrive before I am stuck to the house.
    Hugs for a Happy week~
